Vasant Panchami Story From Ramayana
According to Ramayana, when Ravana had kidnapped Goddess Sita, she had dropped her ornaments on the way. It was to make an indication of the way to Rama for searching Sitaji. When Ram followed the ornaments on the way, he reached Shabri. Shabri offered Lord Ram the sweet berries which she had selected by tasting herself. And ultimately she found the divine feet at last.
It is said that Shabri had offered sweet berries to Rama on Vasant Panchmi, hence Vasant Panchami is celebrated with gaiety at the places where Shabri’s temples are there.
